Position Title: Student Worker - Recreation & Wellness Club Sports Manager (Work-Study or Non-Work Study) Job Description: The Club Sport Manager position is responsible for directly managing club sport activities and personnel. This individual will administer program components relative to the safety and well-being of club sports participants, practice/game day operations, and policies/procedures. Job Duties Maintain a thorough understanding of the Club Sports Guidebook and all program policies and procedures. Hold current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or obtain certification within the first two months of employment. Complete training on sport-specific rules and procedures for assigned club sports. Directly supervise assigned club sport teams during practices, competitions, and related activities. Attend club sport practices and provide support and assistance to teams as needed. Supervise and manage home competitions, as well as select away competitions when assigned. Assist with personnel management and maintain effective communication with club executive board members. Attend all bi-weekly Recreation staff meetings. Attend monthly Club Sports Executive Board meetings with the Assistant Director of Recreation. Effectively manage conflicts by addressing situations in a professional, timely, fair, and respectful manner. Enforce all Club Sports, Recreation, and University rules, policies, and procedures. Promote and ensure the safety and well-being of all club sport participants. Provide accurate information and exceptional customer service to participants, coaches, and spectators. Complete and submit all required reports, forms, and documentation accurately and on time. Make appropriate decisions regarding weather-related delays, postponements, or cancellations. Assist with opening and closing facilities for practices, competitions, and special events as needed. Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment for practices and competitions. Support the upkeep and maintenance of athletic facilities and playing surfaces as needed. Assist with promoting the Club Sports program and individual club teams through marketing and outreach initiatives. Salary and Hours Students are paid the current minimum wage for Maryland. Students will work a total of eight (8) hours per week. Full Time/Part Time: Part time
