About the role
Responsibilities: Coordinates the care of Residents through collaboration with other departments. Communicates with families regarding the Resident's plan of care and any changes in the condition of the Resident. Receives and communicates information to the staff and keeps Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of needs and current developments. Evaluates rotation of staff and adjusts section assignments as needed. Promotes positive public relations for the nursing unit and department. Responsible for conducting monthly meetings and educating staff on new policies relating to the nursing department. Oversees the implementation of new policies and procedures and periodically reviews current procedures, working in collaboration with the Director of Staff Development as needed. Directs volunteers assigned to the unit with the assistance of the Registered Nurse.
