Additional information about the company can be found online at We are currently looking for a Technical Specialist/Sr Technical Specialist for our Kosci, MS location. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Technical Specialist is responsible for testing and performing mechanical maintenance on reciprocating engines, auxiliary equipment, and related facilities, while supporting daily Electrical, Controls, and Automation (E&I) activities within the assigned area. The role requires full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations and includes occasional unscheduled or emergency work. Successful candidate must live 30 miles from the Kosci Compressor Station in order to respond to call-outs. Responsibilities include maintaining assigned tools and equipment, promoting safe work practices, and serving as a project lead when required. The position requires self-motivation, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and meeting company-established physical and educational standards. Specific duties include valve and flow control inspections, tank gauging, maintenance and calibration of measurement and metering equipment, and inspection of over-pressure protection systems. The role performs all assigned measurement, mechanical, and E&I tasks, along with preventive maintenance for compressor and meter station operations. The position also involves identifying and reporting abnormal or unsafe operating conditions, completing accident and near-miss reporting, and participating in emergency response activities. This role regularly leads projects and is responsible for making equipment-related decisions within the assigned area, with corresponding authority and accountability. Duties include maintaining required compliance documentation and successfully completing all Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks specifically assigned to the position. The position primarily supports the assigned area but may occasionally assist other areas as needed. It is subject to periodic call-outs and schedule adjustments based on operational requirements. The role also requires completion of Core Block training in Safety, Environmental, and Company policies and procedures. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE • More than 5 years of experience on pipeline, pump station, and terminal operating systems • DOT 195 & DOT 192 knowledge and experience in compliance • Mechanical maintenance experience • Basic understanding of Electricity and Instrumentation • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects • Experience with Microsoft programs • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns • Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record • Strong commitment to personal and team safety PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE • 10 Plus years of petro-chemical industry experience • 5 Plus years Electrical Experience • 5 Plus years Instrumentation & Automation experience • 5 Plus years gas measurement experience • Technical school or college REQUIRED EDUCATION: • High School Diploma PREFERRED EDUCATION: • Associate’s Degree ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Boardwalk Pipelines, LP, maintains a drug-free workplace and will require pre-employment drug & substance abuse testing before hiring.
