Join Nationwide’s   Small Commercial Portfolio Management team and   spend your summer solving real problems, working with   experienced   professionals, and turning data into insights that influence how we grow and manage our business.   This   is a hands-on   internship   built for curious,   digitally fluent   students who like to dig into data, ask good   questions,   and communicate what they find.    You’ll   contribute to   real business   initiatives   and develop skills that will serve you throughout your career.   Key Responsibilities   As an intern, you will:   Assist with Data Projects:  Help   collect, organiz e, and analyz e   business data related to pricing,   growth, distribution, and performance.   Turn Data into Insights:  I dentify patterns and   trends and   join   discussions about how   d ata informs decisions.   Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside   portfolio   managers,   underwriters,   analysts, and   sales partners   to understand how   different roles   come together to   contribute to business outcomes.   Create Visuals & Presentations: Help build simple dashboards or slide decks to communicate findings clearly and professionally.   Explore AI   in Action: Learn how AI is used in insurance, like pre dictive modeling   and   automation,   and   assist   with research or analysis involving AI tools.   Grow Professionally: Attend team meetings, training sessions, and intern events to build industry knowledge,   professional confidence, and   a network.   Own a Real Project: Take on a project tied to an actual business priority and present your findings and recommendations to Small Commercial leaders.   What   You’ll   Gain   Real, resume-worthy experience on projects that matter to the business   Mentorship from experienced portfolio managers and leaders   Exposure to how a Fortune 100 insurer uses data and AI to make decisions   A built-in network of peers, professionals, and executives   Skills/Competencies • Strong written and verbal communication • Ability to work well in teams and contribute to group efforts • Time management and organizational skills • Curiosity and willingness to learn • Professional demeanor and accountability • Basic proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint • Familiarity with data tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Python, R) is a plus • Interest in AI and its business applications • Ability to think critically and ask thoughtful questions Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program. Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is: $23 - $50
