JOB SUMMARY The Kriegstein lab is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organized Staff Research Associate (SRA) to join our team as a technician contributing to cutting-edge functional genomics research. This position exists to support high-impact studies that leverage CRISPR library screening and single-cell technologies to investigate gene function in human primary cells. The SRA will prepare lentiviral vectors for CRISPR library applications, handle human primary tissues (including tissue dissociation and cell culture of primary cells under appropriate conditions), perform lentiviral infection of cultured cells, carry out fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), and prepare single-cell sequencing libraries using the 10x Genomics platform. The SRA will be expected to perform independently under the supervision of the PI, while gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technology in a highly collaborative research environment.     DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS %   of time Essential Function (Yes/No)     Key Responsibilities (To be completed by Supervisor) 90 Y CRISPR/Lentiviral Work: Prepare lentiviral vectors for CRISPR library applications; perform lentiviral infection of cultured cells. Handling of Human Primary Tissues: Perform handling of human primary tissues, including tissue dissociation and cell culture of primary cells under appropriate conditions; perform fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). Library Preparation: Prepare single-cell sequencing libraries using the 10x Genomics platform. 10 Y Maintain stocks, reagents, laboratory equipment, perform other duties as assigned, keep notes about experiments updated.  0     0     0     0     0     0     0     0     0           100%       Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree in a related scientific field Foundational understanding of basic neuroscience concepts and standard laboratory procedures Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, thorough record keeping   Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Neurobiology
