About the Team In this role, you'd be joining the Finance team. This team is integral to supporting a fast-moving ecommerce environment. We're detail-oriented and process-driven, but also comfortable adapting as the business grows and changes. We work closely with teams across the company  to make sure the numbers tell an accurate, timely story, and we take pride in being a reliable partner the rest of the business can count on.   What You’ll Do To further this important mission, we are looking for a Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant on the Finance team you will support the day to day accounting function, prepare account reconciliations and journal entries for month end close, track all movements in inventory accounts, assist with actual vs. plan variance analysis, and assist with compliance reporting. This position will report to the Controller and will also work closely with the Senior Accountant. Prepare month end close account reconciliations and journal entries relating but not limited to cash reconciliations, inventory, settlement receivables, asset and liability deposit accounts, revenue, and operating expenses Assist with monthly operations actual vs. plan variance analysis and related accrual journal entries Monitor and track the inventory general ledger accounts, including preparing monthly inventory reconciliations, preparing month end inventory accruals, and working closely with supply chain and warehouse operation teams to improve inventory process flow and controls Perform ad-hoc reconciliations and analysis related to customer sales, sales tax, expense variance analysis, etc. Prepare compliance forms related to property tax, sales tax, business licenses, franchise taxes, etc. Assist in developing, implementing, and documentation of new process workflows related to inventory, accounts payable, and internal controls Assist with gathering and/or preparing requests from third parties relating to financial statement audits, sales tax audits, etc. Who You Are   2+ years of general accounting and/or public accounting experience Certified Public Accountant with in-depth knowledge of US GAAP preferred Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or other accounting ERP systems Self-starter with the ability to prioritize various responsibilities Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field Experience working with inventory, preferred but not required Worked in a startup environment, preferred but not required Perks & Benefits At The Black Tux Competitive medical, dental, vision, and disability plans Option to participate in a  401(k) plan through Betterment  Generous paid time off and paid holidays  Monthly cell phone reimbursement Monthly wellness stipend Work from home set up stipend 6 weeks paid parental leave; an additional 6-8 weeks disability leave for eligible birthing parents One Medical and Wellhub (Gympass) membership Employee engagement, cultural events, and trainings  Discounts on garment rental and purchases for you, your partner, and friends & family Annual compensation review process Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging  We believe our people are our most important asset.
