About the role
Adheres to American Speech Language & Hearing Association (ASHA/State guidelines) until the notification of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is obtained. Interprets physician orders and requests interpretation as necessary. Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients. Reviews patient chart and progress prior to treatment and modifies the treatment plan accordingly. Develops realistic functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations. Instructs and involves patient, family, social worker, nursing staff and discharge planner in patient's progress and discharge plans. Participates in appropriate meetings. Maintains documentation of all treatments. Uses appropriate modalities and procedures. Assures appropriate equipment performance prior to each use. Provides in-service to staff. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Master's degree in speech-language pathology/communication sciences and disorders PREFERRED EDUCATION: N/A MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: N/A PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Competency in performing modified barium swallow exams REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: State Intern Licensure PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center. #LI-SC1 Be the heart of compassionate care in a patient care support role with us!
