METHUEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS VACANCY NOTICE THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT TITLE: School  Counselor/School Psychologist for Timony Grammar School 21 st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Gr. 3-6 After-School Program* Program Hours: As determined by the Program Manager of Community Programs (Program Manager); appx. 2.5 hrs./prog. day, Mon. through Thur./Fri. (includes extra time for planning, possible remote programming, workshops & other duties most likely required). Program planned to run tentatively from October 5th, 2026 until June 3rd, 2027, pending snow days.       DATE OF OPENING:   September 14, 2026   QUALIFICATIONS: Certified, team-oriented counselor/teacher in Methuen Public Schools preferred. Knowledge of/experience with 21 st CCLC Program a plus; excellent attendance record. Familiar w/ MA Curriculum Frameworks including Common Core & 21 st CCLC SAYO rqmnts. Successful experience working with second language, LEP, SPED, at-risk or struggling students. Excellent organizational skills and dedication to improving academic standards of all students. Ability to work with college & career readiness focus, and in collaboration with prog. partners. Bilingual experience preferred and ability to speak Spanish a plus.  First Aid certification a plus.    9.    Experience in implementing lessons & utilizing the district's access to curriculum-TRAILS to Wellness. Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work w/ site coordinator & teachers, and check-in/monitor student progress with emphasis on Newcomers/ELs. Provide input to project-based proposals & curriculum templates for enrichment/remote activities. Assist w/ meals program and parent pick-up/bus. Attend staff meetings, field trips, workshops, & family events as planned by Site Coord., and/or the program manager. Assist w/ DESE surveys (SAYOs) and other required documents in a timely manner. Maintain and submit accurate records and follow-up w/ students regarding consistent attendance, and work w/ students in college and career planning. Communicate with coordinators, teachers, and parents, about program and student progress; and have ability to implement lessons & utilize the district's access to curriculum - TRAILS to Wellness. Other responsibilities as may be assigned by site coordinator, and/or the program manager. Excellent attendance required. *Positions may be split at discretion of the Program Manager of Community Programs.
