Job Title Research Assistant Agency Texas A&M University Department Health And Kinesiology Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Temporary/Casual Staff (Fixed Term) Job Description What We Want The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management (KNSM) is seeking a Research Assistant who will work in the Performance and Fatigue Laboratory to execute a respiratory physiology study. The Research Assistant will be responsible for recruiting healthy participants, scheduling and conducting experiments, and ensuring accurate data collection and collation. Additionally, this role will involve writing the methodology section for manuscripts and collaborating on data analysis, data interpretation, and the writing and submission of the final manuscript. The position is integral to the successful execution and dissemination of the study's outcomes. As such, TAMU does not guarantee any set number of hours or length of employment in this role This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance Essential Duties/Tasks Respiratory Study Execution Recruit healthy participants for a respiratory physiology study. Schedule and coordinate appointments for experiments. Execute respiratory physiology experiments using appropriate laboratory techniques, including use of a spirometer. Collate and manage experimental data. Write the methodology section for related manuscripts and assist in manuscript preparation and submission. Collaborate on data analysis, data interpretation, and contribute to the writing process as part of the research team Qualifications Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. No required experience. Required Licenses and Certifications CITI training. Preferred Qualifications 2 years of experience in laboratory settings. MS degree in physiology or a closely related field (no substitution of experience for educational requirement).   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated ability to recruit for and execute human physiology experiments. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a research team. Strong organizational and data management skills. Experience with data analysis and scientific writing related to laboratory-based research.
