Renewal Falls Recovery Center, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our multidisciplinary team in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Responsibilities include: Perform admission evaluations, comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and ongoing patient assessments. Assess and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within the scope of the program. Evaluate patients experiencing substance withdrawal and provide appropriate medical management. Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's medical and recovery needs. Prescribe, monitor, and manage medications, including medications used for withdrawal management and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT/MOUD), when clinically appropriate and within scope of practice. Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust medical plans as clinically indicated. Review laboratory results, diagnostic testing, medication profiles, and relevant outside medical records. Identify changes in patient condition and provide timely intervention, consultation, or referral to a higher level of care when appropriate. Collaborate closely with nursing, clinical therapists, case managers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to coordinated treatment and discharge planning. Educate patients regarding medications, medical conditions, recovery, wellness, and risk reduction. Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic health record. Support medication safety, quality improvement initiatives, Joint Commission standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Participate in established on-call coverage based on the facility's medical coverage model. Who We're Looking For Required Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current national Nurse Practitioner board certification appropriate to the population served. Current Iowa ARNP license in good standing or ability to obtain Iowa licensure prior to start date. Current DEA registration and applicable Iowa controlled-substance prescribing authority, or ability to obtain prior to assuming prescribing responsibilities. Current BLS certification. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, critical-thinking, and documentation skills. Ability to practice with appropriate independence while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team. Strong communication skills and a commitment to respectful, patient-centered care. Preferred Qualifications Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) certification. Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, withdrawal management, residential treatment, primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, psychiatry, or a related setting. Experience treating opioid and alcohol use disorders. Experience prescribing medications used in the treatment of substance use disorders. Knowledge of ASAM criteria. Experience working in a Joint Commission-accredited healthcare environment. Previous addiction medicine experience is preferred, but it is not required for a clinically strong Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about the mission and interested in developing expertise in this area.
