The Labor & Employment Paralegal is a critical in-house role that supports both the legal department and Human Resources with employment disputes, government agency charges, litigation, compliance, and investigations. This is hands-on, substantive paralegal work in a fast-moving, multi-jurisdictional environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Support management and defense of government agency charges -- drafting position statements, gathering evidence, organizing documentation, and coordinating with in-house legal counsel and outside counsel for EEOC, DFEH/CRD, NLRB, and state agency matters • Assist with employment-related disputes and litigation -- managing discovery, preparing exhibits, maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with the in-house legal department and outside counsel • Draft and review routine employment documents, separation agreements, arbitration agreements, demand letters, and correspondence • Maintain employment law compliance calendars and track regulatory deadlines across all operating jurisdictions • Support workplace investigations -- organizing documentation, preparing summaries, and maintaining investigation files • Conduct legal research on federal and multi-state employment law issues as directed by the in-house legal or Human Resources departments • Maintain organized case files and records within the company's matter management system and document repositories • Assist with the company's employment policy updates and handbook revisions WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 2+ years of paralegal experience in labor and employment law from an in-house legal department or law firm -- required • Paralegal certificate or related degree preferred • Experience with litigation support -- discovery, exhibits, case file management, and deadline tracking -- required • California employment law experience is a strong plus -- wage and hour, PAGA, FEHA, and CFRA familiarity highly valued • Strong knowledge of employment law, including government agency charge processes, PAGA, FEHA, EEOC, DFEH/CRD, and state-level compliance requirements • Excellent time-management and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a compliance-focused environment • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document and matter management systems • Discreet, professional, and able to handle confidential employment matters with complete discretion WHAT WE OFFER • Competitive salary -- commensurate with experience • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Life insurance and supplemental coverage options • Paid time off and paid holidays • Career growth within a growing in-house legal team supporting a 40+ rooftop multi-state organization • Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts WHY SWICKARD AUTO GROUP -- LEGAL & SHARED SERVICES • Substantive, multi-jurisdictional L&E work in a growing in-house environment -- this is not a siloed role; you'll work directly with legal counsel and HR leadership across a complex, active caseload • California-heavy employment law exposure across a multi-state footprint -- wage and hour, PAGA, agency charges, and compliance work across jurisdictions that challenge and develop your expertise • A Shared Services team in Las Vegas alongside HR, finance, and operations leadership -- a professional, collaborative environment built for people who want to do serious work and grow with the organization • Swickard is one of the fastest-growing dealer groups in the country -- ranked Top 5 in North America for reputation in the automotive industry • Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- shape how we operate, how we treat our employees, and the culture you'll be helping to protect and support If you're a skilled L&E paralegal ready to bring your litigation support experience, California employment law knowledge, and multi-state compliance capabilities to a high-growth in-house legal team -- we'd like to meet you.
