Hired candidate will spend their day multi-tasking a wide variety of HR duties to include creative job postings, pre-employment processing, onboarding, new employee orientation, administering benefits, document management, and interpreting policy and procedures among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate is someone who is resourceful, has a great positive attitude, collaborates well with others and has knowledge and experience in pre-employment processing, onboarding, benefits and presentation skills among others. Work involves coordinating and communicating sensitive information; and maintaining confidentiality. Work requires contact with management, employees, retirees, health care providers; and state and federal agencies. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. Will be trained in tasks to work independently. Essential Duties: Conducts new employee orientation, and may assist with annual enrollment, employee forums, or human resources-related meetings. Prepares, reviews, processes, and explains correspondence, reports, forms, and transactions. Files and maintains employment applications, personnel records and related files. Generates and analyzes automated reports regarding human resources activities. Keeps abreast of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Prepares and distributes notifications. Processes requests for information under the Public Information Act or served court subpoenas. May serve as point of contact for certain HR programs. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Experience: No experience required. Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Preferred Qualifications: Experience handling FMLA Competencies: Human resources administrative practices and procedures Human resources management policies and practices Federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the human resources field Applicable human resources management and information systems Public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups, both internal and external Administrative support practices and procedures to include writing, editing, and report writing techniques, recording meeting notes, record keeping and records management Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems Communicate effectively Exercises logic and reasoning to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; make decisions that support business objectives and goals.
