About the role
Who We Are: Christopher Street Financial (CSF) is a unique, growing financial planning and wealth management firm based in New York City, with clients nationwide. We offer relationship-based financial planning and investment management. Our purpose is to create opportunities through relationships, helping people lead fulfilling lives. We value this for our clients, for our colleagues, and for our community. Christopher Street Financial was founded in 1981 as the first company committed to providing financial advice and investment services to the LGBTQ+ community. A lot has changed since our founding, but one thing has not: our commitment to provide financial planning and investment services to the LGBTQ+ community and those who share our values. We now serve over 450 households and manage over $1.1 billion in assets. While we are still experts in the unique financial, tax, and legal needs of unmarried couples, as time has gone by, our values and approach to financial planning have resonated with a wider range of people. We provide a welcoming environment where everyone is recognized as an individual with unique needs. By partnering with us as fiduciaries, clients are trusting us with their future and with their peace of mind. We are an Ensemble Practice, operating as a team that puts our clients and the company before personal interests. Client relationships are relationships of the firm and not of any single advisor. We believe in the efficiency of a common approach and the value of a consistent client experience, while acknowledging each client’s individuality. We collaborate across roles, recognize individual contributions to team success, and continuously improve how we serve clients, colleagues, and community. What You'll Do: Operational Leadership and Service Model • Lead day-to-day operational execution, ensuring workflow adherence, service quality, responsiveness, and team productivity. • Document and implement operational policies, workflows, standard operating procedures, and service routines that support accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and scalability. Recommend substantive improvements and translate approved changes into consistent practice. • Promote disciplined use of systems, documentation standards, and shared workflows across the firm. • Monitor operational performance and partner with firm leadership and advisory teams to identify bottlenecks, address recurring issues, streamline workflows, and strengthen the client and advisor experience. • Establish, monitor, and report operational KPIs using performance data to identify trends, address gaps, recognize progress, and drive continuous improvement. • Implement approved marketing efforts, including website updates, social media management, client communications, and team and client events, working with internal colleagues and external partners as appropriate. • Coordinate CSF’s relationships, communications, and activities with community and charitable partners in collaboration with internal colleagues. • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding in coordination with human resources and internal stakeholders, helping ensure that required access, documentation, communications, and operational steps are completed. Team Management and Development • Lead, coach, and develop administrative staff, reinforcing accountability, collaboration, documentation discipline, and continuous improvement. • Set clear expectations and priorities, provide timely feedback, and create an environment that supports professional growth and reliable execution. • Coordinate administrative staffing, training, coverage planning, and workflow assignments. Lead performance management for administrative staff, including formal performance reviews, in partnership with human resources. • Promote a collaborative, client-first culture consistent with CSF’s Core Values and team-based operating model. Risk, Reporting, and Cross-Functional Coordination • Own the triage, escalation, and resolution of advisor- and client-impacting operational matters. • Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information, service exceptions, and non-routine issues. • Prepare operational reporting, action plans, meeting agendas, and follow-up items for leadership review. • Support the design and implementation of the firm’s future-state operating model, including integration, process standardization, technology adoption, vendor coordination, and firm-wide change initiatives, within the strategic agenda established by leadership. • Oversee operational adherence to defined regulatory standards, firm requirements, and approved procedures, coordinating with compliance and other stakeholders as appropriate. What You Bring: • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related professional experience. • Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible operations experience. Wealth-management or financial-services experience is preferred, although strong operations leadership experience in another professional-services or similarly regulated industry will be considered. • Ability to manage firm operations, supervise support workflows, resolve complex service issues, and maintain documentation standards. • Working knowledge of wealth-management operations preferred, with demonstrated ability to learn regulated service workflows, documentation standards, and issue-resolution practices. • Client-first mindset with a commitment to accuracy, responsiveness, confidentiality, and a high-quality service experience. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, advisors, colleagues, and external partners. • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive information and non-routine service matters appropriately. • Strong organization, prioritization, follow-through, and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-based environment while maintaining quality standards. • Collaborative style and demonstrated ability to build trust across advisory, operations, Client Services, administration, and compliance functions. • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; experience with Microsoft Copilot or demonstrated ability to adopt AI-enabled productivity tools strongly preferred. • Experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, as well as financial planning software, custodial platforms, and performance reporting systems strongly preferred. • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States. Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations • FINRA, advisory, insurance, or operations-related licenses are preferred. Any registration requirements will be determined based on the responsibilities assigned to the role.
