ANTICIPATED POSITION FOR 2026-2027 SY English/Language Arts Teacher - Leave Replacement Position Anticipated Dates: November 2, 2026 - June 22, 2027 David Brearley High School QUALIFICATIONS:        1. Valid NJDOE Instructional Certificate with an English/Language Arts endorsement for Grades 6�12. 2. Demonstrated successful teaching experience in high school English Language Arts; experience teaching multiple secondary grade levels preferred. 3. Strong knowledge of effective secondary ELA instructional practices, curriculum design, assessment, differentiation, student supports, and classroom management. 4. Knowledge of current New Jersey Student Learning Standards for English Language Arts and evidence-based practices in literature, informational text, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary instruction. 5. Ability to plan and deliver rigorous, engaging, standards-aligned instruction that develops students' reading comprehension, literary analysis, writing, critical thinking, research, and communication skills. 6. Ability to use assessment data, student work, and other instructional evidence to monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and support diverse learners at the high school level. 7. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with high school students, families, colleagues, counselors, and administrators. 8. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. 9. Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).     REPORTS TO: DBHS Principal    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Kenilworth Board of Education's substitute teaching long-term rates and benefits: Type of Sub Rate Benefits Per Diem $125 per day The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.   Long-term sub less than 6 months $250 per day The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.   Long-term sub 6 months or longer $345 per day The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.   Long-term, full school year assignment Step 1 BA Benefits the first of the month after 30 days of service.   • The position is not eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends for extracurricular activities, coaching, or tuition reimbursement based on district policy. • In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:16-1:1, time accrued in a leave replacement position does not count towards tenure.
