Job DetailsLevel: ManagementJob Location: Kamas, UT 84036Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Category: Information TechnologyBuild the Technology Foundation for Fieldpiece’s Next Stage of Growth Fieldpiece is looking for a Director of Information Systems to build and lead our internal Information Systems function. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on technology leader who wants to create something rather than inherit a large, established IT organization. Fieldpiece is the innovation leader in professional HVACR tools and test instruments, trusted by technicians around the world to solve complex challenges every day. We're investing aggressively in product innovation, connected technologies, AI-enabled solutions, and world-class product development capabilities. Our mission is to create products and services that help HVACR technicians work smarter, faster, and with greater confidence. As our first in-house Information Systems leader, you’ll build and manage a growing team and take ownership of the technology environment currently supported through managed service providers and establish the strategy, architecture, processes, and internal capabilities we need for the future. You’ll work across the business to tackle challenging systems and data problems, improve how information flows between platforms, and ensure our internal business data is accurate, accessible, governed, and ready to drive better decisions. This position is in our Park City, UT office with an exciting move to Heber City, UT in 2028. Named one of the Best Places to Work in Southern California for four consecutive years, we're looking for talented people who want to make an impact while growing their careers. What You’ll Do Build our internal IS function and capabilities. Own infrastructure and cybersecurity. Ensure secure, reliable systems, access, networks, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Lead our managed service providers. Set expectations, manage performance and cost, and make decisions on future requirements. Build a trusted business data foundation. Improve data quality, governance, integrations, and accessibility for reporting, dashboards, and analytics. Own enterprise systems. Lead our Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment, integrations, and technology roadmap. Drive automation and AI. Use governed business data to automate reporting, workflows, and other manual processes to improve business decision-making. Build and lead a growing internal team to effectively manage our infrastructure and systems. Partner with leadership. Translate business needs into technology priorities, investments, and solutions. Why This Role Is Different You won't be stepping into a large IT department with everything already defined. You'll be the person who defines it. You'll inherit capable external partners and an existing technology environment with the opportunity to determine what the future should look like. It's a strong opportunity for someone who can operate at both levels: setting the strategy and rolling up their sleeves to make it happen. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IS, IT or related field. 10+ years of technology experience, including 5+ years leading an IT, IS, or related function with an emphasis on IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. Experience managing MSPs, consultants, vendors, contracts, and licensing. Strong experience with enterprise data, integrations, governance, reporting, and data quality. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure, SharePoint, and related technologies. Experience delivering automation and AI solutions using real business data. Strong business judgment with the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions. Excellent communication and influencing skills across technical and non-technical teams. A builder mentality and comfort creating structure where it doesn't yet exist. Even Better If You Have Built or scaled an internal technology team. Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central, Finance, Sales, or Customer Service. Experience with Power Platform, Defender, Purview, or other Microsoft technologies. Experience supporting a global or geographically distributed organization. Lean or continuous-improvement experience. Microsoft, CISSP, CISM, ITIL, PMP, or similar certifications. Why You'll Enjoy Working at Fieldpiece As a privately held company, we invest for the long term—in our people, our products, and our future. That means we can focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and building lasting careers rather than chasing short-term results. Work alongside talented, collaborative teammates who are passionate about innovation and solving real world problems.
