The ideal candidate is a strategic communications leader and exceptional writer who is equally comfortable setting long-term direction and executing day to day. This person is a trusted advisor, creative problem solver, and strong relationship builder who understands how communications can support business growth and strengthen employee engagement. Key Responsibilities • Develop and lead BPP’s internal and external communications strategy in alignment with business priorities, workforce growth, employee engagement, and the company’s long-term vision. • Partner with the CEO and senior leaders to create organizational announcements, leadership updates, presentations, articles, talking points, and other executive communications. • Identify and develop compelling written stories about BPP’s products, employees, customers, innovations, growth, and impact on essential infrastructure, providing the messaging and narrative foundation for complementary digital, visual, and video content. • Own BPP’s LinkedIn presence and editorial strategy, including written content that highlights company news, employees, culture, career opportunities, community involvement, products, and milestones. • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing leaders, and other subject matter experts to translate complex technical information into clear, audience-focused content. • Create effective employee communications and develop innovative ways to reach manufacturing employees who may not have regular computer access. • Partner with BPP’s Keeper of the Culture to highlight employee stories, reinforce culture, and improve the employee experience. • Partner with the Creative Director of Marketing, who owns digital, visual, and video content development and production, to ensure creative assets complement the written narrative and bring BPP’s stories to life across internal and external channels. • Build relationships with media outlets, pitch relevant stories, coordinate interviews, respond to media inquiries, and identify opportunities to increase awareness of BPP. • Develop and execute earned media and thought leadership strategies that increase awareness of BPP by securing visibility through industry publications, business media, trade organizations, podcasts, speaking opportunities, awards programs, and other external channels that elevate the company's brand, people, products, and impact. • Develop relationships with industry, educational, and community organizations, including the California Manufacturers & Technology Association, to support brand awareness and workforce growth. • Partner with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition on employer-branding and recruiting communications that position BPP as an employer of choice. • Build partnerships with high schools and colleges to support career fairs, facility tours, internships, and future talent pipelines. • Establish and manage an editorial calendar and communications workflow that deliver consistent, timely content across internal and external channels. • Use audience feedback and performance insights to continuously improve communications strategy, written content, and channel effectiveness. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field. • Proven success developing and executing communications strategies and programs. • Exceptional writing, copywriting, editing, and storytelling skills. • Experience advising and partnering with executives and senior leaders. • Experience developing written content across executive, employee, media, digital, social, and employer-branding channels. • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and productive relationships across all levels of an organization.
