In this role, you will guide clients through the Medicaid application and renewal process, provide education regarding eligibility and coverage options, coordinate with staff and government agencies, and ensure timely and accurate submission of required documentation. Assist eligible individuals with completing and submitting Medicaid applications and benefit renewal documentation. Coordinate with direct care staff to ensure accurate, complete, and timely Medicaid application submissions. Monitor application statuses and proactively follow up with the Family Support Division (FSD) to support timely benefit determinations. Review Medicaid reauthorization reports and schedule appointments with clients to facilitate continued coverage. Serve as a liaison between clients, staff, and the Family Support Division to address questions, resolve concerns, and support positive outcomes. Verify Medicaid eligibility status for assigned clients and communicate lapses in coverage as directed. Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and service excellence. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Social Services, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in benefits advocacy, Medicaid enrollment, healthcare access, or a related role. Experience supporting diverse populations within healthcare, social services, or community-based settings strongly preferred. Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated understanding of Medicaid policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, professionalism, and a customer-focused approach when assisting clients. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency with databases, electronic record systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other technology platforms. Successful completion of background checks, including criminal history, driving record, abuse/neglect screening, and fingerprint screening. Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance required. Physical Requirements Perform sedentary work involving exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. Maintain prolonged periods of sitting throughout the workday with occasional walking and standing. Perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements associated with typing, keyboarding, and writing. Operate standard office equipment and computer systems as required to perform job duties.
