Salary Range: $ 50,000 - $64,000 per a cademic year. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. CU advantage Summary This is a full-time, 9-month, on-campus, non-tenure track appointment at the Assistant Teaching Professor level with 80% teaching and 20% service work distribution in the Department of Nursing. This position is expected to teach 24 credit hours per academic year and includes responsibilities in the undergraduate programs; and conduct classroom, clinical, and online teaching. Faculty also participate in both internal and external professional service activities and demonstrate collaborative interests and collegiality in all aspects of faculty engagement. The position includes classroom, online, laboratory/simulation, and clinical teaching with lead responsibility for courses in adult health nursing. In addition to the 9-month academic year, the faculty has an opportunity to teach during the summer session for additional compensation.   Essential Functions The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Provide instruction to undergraduate students in the classroom, static lab, simulation learning center, online, and clinical settings. Engage in various service activities within the department, college, UCCS, the profession of nursing, and the community. Maintain clinical and academic expertise. Select and schedule student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes. Plan, develop, and implement evaluation tools to assess student progress. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Participate in meetings and other activities that advance the mission and goals of the department and college. Other duties as determined by the Dean and Department Chair.    Tentative Search Timeline Priority will be given to applications submitted by:  October 4, 2026. Qualifications   Master of Science in Nursing from a program with national accreditation is required. Active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado, or ability to obtain by date of hire is required. Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience related to medical/surgical (adult health) nursing is required. Previous teaching experience in undergraduate nursing program or adult learning environments is preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with clinical partners, colleagues, and students with a wide range of skill levels is preferred. Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction is preferred. Previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation is preferred. Previous experience with conducting online teaching is preferred.
