Assistant Professor of Mathematics We are now accepting applications for a qualified Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Belmont University.  Employment Type  Faculty Internal Job Category Tenure Track (Faculty) Full-Time Department Math & Computer Science Hours  N/A Primary Duties and Responsibilities:   The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Data Science at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning August 1, 2027. Due to our department's growth in computer science and data science, candidates with experience and interest in these fields are encouraged to apply. Our faculty provides high-quality learning experiences in a small class environment and engages undergraduates in various research experiences. Primary Duties and Job Responsibilities Job responsibilities include twenty-four hours of undergraduate teaching per year (typically four three-hour courses each semester), as well as academic advising, scholarly activity, and other departmental, college, and university professional responsibilities. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to, and preparation for, the following: excellence in teaching undergraduates of all levels; a willingness to teach in Belmont’s general education program; a passion for their discipline that will aid in attracting and retaining undergraduate majors; and the ability to sustain scholarly research that includes undergraduates. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.    Required Education A Ph.D. in mathematics, or a closely related field, or progress towards a terminal degree is required.    Required Experience Teaching experience strongly preferred.
