Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Clinical Associate Professor

Description The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for one full time 100% FTE, academic professional track (non-tenure) faculty position with an 11-month appointment beginning Spring 2026, or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Clinical Associate Professor. Faculty responsibilities include: Clinical Coordination & Supervision: Coordinate clinical activities and supervise patient care to ensure excellence in service delivery and adherence to institutional standards. Instruction & Course Leadership: Serve as instructor and/or course director for pre-doctoral courses, contributing to curriculum design and implementation. Evidence-Based Teaching: Develop and deliver lectures that are grounded in current scientific evidence and best practices in dentistry. Simulation & Laboratory Instruction: Teach in simulation clinics and laboratory settings, supporting students in developing foundational clinical competencies. Clinical Education: Provide direct clinical instruction and mentorship during patient care, guiding students through procedures and decision-making. Student Evaluation & Support: Assess students’ professionalism, clinical progress, and performance; offer regular academic and career counseling to foster growth and success. Departmental Engagement: Participate in departmental initiatives, including committee service, faculty meetings, and collaborative academic activities Interested individuals should have a strong commitment to teaching and service. Interested individuals should have a strong commitment to teaching and service.    Qualifications Candidate must have a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree (e.g., BDS) from a U.S. or recognized dental school Be eligible for licensure in Texas. Candidate must have experience in all fields of general dentistry, have strong clinical skills, a strong background in clinical practice, and be familiar with current dental technologies, including CAD/CAM workflow. Completion of a CODA-accredited General Practice Residency (GPR) or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Advanced training/certificate in prosthodontics At least five(5) years experience teaching dental students are required.   All final candidates will be required to successfully pass a criminial background check prior to beginning employment.
