POSITION SUMMARY The Teacher provides high-quality, standards-based instruction that supports student achievement and prepares K-12 students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for success in college, career, and life. The Teacher plans, organizes, and delivers engaging learning experiences using evidence-based instructional practices, data-driven decision making, and inclusive classroom strategies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required. Advanced degrees preferred. Certifications/Licenses: Must hold or be eligible for appropriate Georgia Professional Standards Commission certification for assigned subject(s). Experience: Experience gained through required education and certification. K-12 or public sector experience preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction using research-based strategies and instructional technology. • Plan, differentiate, and implement lessons aligned to district curriculum and state standards. • Monitor student performance using assessment data and adjust instruction to improve outcomes. • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that promotes engagement and well-being. • Maintain accurate records including grades, attendance, and assessment documentation. • Collaborate with families, administrators, colleagues, and community stakeholders to support student success. • Participate in professional learning, collaborative planning, and school improvement initiatives. • Supervise students in instructional and non-instructional settings. • Maintain regular, reliable on-site attendance and perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Knowledge of curriculum, instructional best practices, assessment methods, and differentiated instruction. • Ability to analyze student data and apply findings to improve academic achievement. • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency with instructional technology and digital learning tools. • Knowledge of district policies, state and federal regulations, and student confidentiality requirements. • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS • Ability to read, communicate, and work with technology for extended periods. • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing 5 pounds or more. • Ability to work in an active school environment with frequent interruptions and varying noise levels. • Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, bending, reaching, and supervising students. • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and effectiveness under pressure. COMPENSATION: Salary Grade: T4 Bachelor - T7 Doctorate Salary Range: Salary Schedules - Atlanta Public Schools Work Year: 202 Days
